Community Interface Services is hiring Full-Time =Resource Counselors to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence. Since 1983, Community Interface Services has been empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through individualized, community-based support. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people thrive in employment, housing, community inclusion, and daily living.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Resource Counselor, you will work with participants in our Independent Living program and provide individualized, person-centered support to each person. This support could look like:

  • Teaching essential independent living skills such cooking, cleaning, home maintenance, budgeting, etc.
  • Supporting individuals who live independently through regular check-ins
  • Connecting people with community resources and services
  • Collaborating with local housing agencies and community partners
  • Promoting self‑advocacy, confidence, and meaningful community involvement

This role is hands‑on, relationship‑focused, and essential to improving the quality of life for those we serve. Since we support individuals within their own home or their community, there is expected travel within the Escondido to Vista area.

Starting pay: $23.00–$25.00/hour

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Knowledge of housing resources or willingness to learn
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • A High School Diploma or GED required (bachelor's degree preferred)
  • A valid California driver's license, reliable vehicle, insurance, and 2+ years of driving experience
