Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Disaster Cleaning Technician to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. As a Disaster Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for providing cleaning services to homes and businesses that have been affected by natural disasters. This is a physically demanding role that requires working in various environments and conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and travel to disaster sites to provide cleaning services
- Assess the extent of damage and determine the appropriate cleaning methods and equipment needed
- Remove debris, damaged materials, and hazardous substances from the affected area
- Clean and disinfect surfaces, walls, floors, and furniture using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in a safe and proper manner
- Ensure all work is done in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on the progress of the cleaning process
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Assist with other tasks and duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in disaster cleaning or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
