Role description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery DR Technical Lead to lead the end-to-end technical delivery of a cloud-based DR enablement program across business-critical applications. The role is responsible for driving the overall DR strategy technical governance cloud resiliency alignment dependency coordination and successful execution of DR enablement activities while acting as the primary technical interface between business application and infrastructure teams. The role combines solution architecture technical leadership and delivery governance to ensure applications meet the agreed recovery objectives and enterprise cloud standards.

Key Responsibilities

DR Strategy Technical Leadership

  • Lead the technical execution of the DR enablement program across multiple applications.

  • Define and validate target state DR architecture aligned to business RTORPO objectives.

  • Drive technical decisions across cloud resiliency recovery architecture and dependency management.

  • Review existing DR maturity and recommend recovery improvements.

DR Assessment Solution Design

  • Lead current state assessments covering application architecture dependencies cloud resiliency and recovery readiness.

  • Review high availability MultiAZ deployment tagging standards and Infrastructure-as-Code readiness.

  • Define implementation roadmap and phased DR progression strategy.

  • Review and approve technical deliverables designs and recovery procedures.

Technical Delivery Governance

  • Govern execution across assessment design lower environment enablement production progression and validation phases.

  • Coordinate activities across cloud platform database network security and application teams.

  • Track technical risks dependencies design decisions and implementation issues.

  • Drive milestone completion and technical quality throughout the engagement.

Recovery Validation Operational Readiness

  • Lead walkthroughs failover planning dependency validation and recovery exercises

  • Ensure fitforpurpose functional recoverability validation following DR implementation

  • Review production readiness runbooks failback approach and operational procedures

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customer architects'' application owners and delivery teams.

  • Conduct technical governance meetings design reviews and executive status updates.

  • Support technical decision-making throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Key Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in Disaster Recovery architecture and implementation.

  • Azure Cloud architecture and operations.

  • High Availability and MultiAZ design patterns.

  • Cloud resiliency and business continuity planning.

  • Application dependency mapping and recovery planning.

  • Infrastructure-as-Code concepts Terraform ARM Bicep.

  • Azure services including Compute Networking Storage AKS and PaaS services.

Secondary Skills

  • Cloud DevOps

  • Azure DevOps and CICD concepts.

  • Deployment automation and Infrastructure-as-Code.

  • Cloud governance tagging standards and operational best practices.

  • Application Integration.

  • Enterprise application architecture NET preferred.

  • API and integration dependency analysis.

  • Recovery runbook development and validation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading enterprise DR transformation programs.

  • Financial Services or Insurance domain experience.

  • Multicloud or hybrid cloud environments.

  • Azure Site Recovery Backup and cloud resiliency solutions.

  • Experience leading cross functional technical teams.

  • Key Success Metrics.

  • Successful delivery of agreed DR milestones.

  • Target state DR architecture approved.

  • Cloud resiliency improvements identified and aligned.

  • Successful lower environment and production DR validation.

Variable Compensation: This position includes a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual''s skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
