This is a Sherman Associates owned Hilton franchised location.

The position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for China, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the kitchen is maintained and is a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Schedule: Available shifts include full-time evening shifts Tuesday-Saturday, with weekend availability required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dishwasher
• Sorts and stacks clean dishes
• Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas
• Tests dishwasher sanitizing levels and adjusts standards based on testing results
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
• Removes trash and garbage and transports to the dumpster
• Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area
• Cleans and rolls/unrolls mats
• Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
• Sweeps/mops floors
• Assembles/disassembles dish machine
• Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
• Notifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
• Does not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first
• Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

Required Experience:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals

• Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs
• Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to various areas within and outside the restaurant in a timely manner
• Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively
• Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift

ADDITIONAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

• Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.

Pay Range: $17-19/hr. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position; including experience, skills, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
