Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward
Position Summary
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas throughout the country club’s dining and banquet operations. This role supports the culinary team by ensuring an organized, clean, and efficient kitchen environment while delivering high standards of hospitality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen work areas, floors, drains, storage areas, and trash stations.
- Properly sort, stack, and store clean items in designated areas.
- Assist with kitchen closing duties and deep-cleaning tasks.
- Remove trash and recycling in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Support banquet and event operations with timely dish and equipment turnover.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Notify supervisors of equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic prep or stocking duties as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working with team members and club staff.
Qualifications
- Previous dishwasher or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
