Schlesinger’s Steakhouse is looking for a reliable Dishwasher / Utility Team Member to join our busy kitchen team in Newport News.

As Newport News’ premier chophouse, we know great service starts behind the scenes. Our kitchen depends on a strong utility team to keep dishes moving, stations stocked, floors clean, and the entire operation running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who shows up, works hard, notices what needs to be done, and can be counted on every shift.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils
• Keep the dish area clean, organized, and safe
• Keep clean dishes, pots, pans, and supplies stocked for the kitchen
• Assist with trash, recycling, floors, cleaning, and other utility duties
• Help cooks and the kitchen team keep service moving
• Stay ahead of the workload and take initiative when something needs attention
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and health department standards
• Help make sure the kitchen is clean and ready for every service

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

• Shows up on time and can be counted on
• Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in cleanliness
• Notices what needs to be done without always being asked
• Works efficiently and keeps moving in a busy kitchen
• Has a positive attitude and is willing to jump in wherever needed
• Takes direction well and works respectfully with the entire team
• Can stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Has previous restaurant or dishwashing experience preferred, but not required
