Position Summary
The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. This position is responsible for washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment while assisting with general cleaning and sanitation to ensure the kitchen operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment and by hand when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized dishwashing area.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors throughout each shift.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing supplies when needed.
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and cookware in designated storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Support kitchen staff with additional cleaning and prep duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain an efficient operation.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or dishwashing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and assist with various kitchen duties.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
