Company Overview:Join our Team! The Big Chill 30A is a family friendly entertainment complex located on historic 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our venue hosts 5 restaurants, 3 bars, retail shops, an arcade, an amphitheater for live music and a 25’ LED Jumbotron for sports and movies. We are open year-round, from 7am to 10pm.
We are now hiring for our Dish and Utility/Prep Team. We have four different restaurant concepts, including Duos, Local Smoke BBQ, Mile Marker 15 and Tacklebox, all with unique menu offerings. We offer both Full Time and Part Time positions, with flexible scheduling for students/seasonal employees.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish area, kitchen, and storage areas
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Assist with trash removal, recycling, and general facility upkeep
- Restock clean dishes and supplies to appropriate stations
- Support kitchen team with basic prep tasks as needed
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation according to recipes and spec sheets
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and storage
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and management team
Qualifications:
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time, reach, stoop, bend and lift (up to 30 lbs)
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Current Food Handler certification a plus
- Able to work at least 35 hours per week
