Country Club of Spartanburg (CCS) – Spartanburg, SC
The Country Club of Spartanburg is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to support our culinary and food & beverage operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment while supporting the culinary team during daily service and club events.
The ideal candidate is reliable, team-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Position Summary
The Dishwasher is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of kitchen dish areas, food preparation spaces, and related kitchen support areas. This role ensures all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored according to CCS standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using dishwashing equipment or by hand
Properly store all cleaned items in designated areas
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout kitchen and dish areas
Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to maintain safe working conditions
Empty trash, break down boxes, and remove kitchen debris
Inspect trash carefully for misplaced silverware or reusable items
Clean kitchen equipment, shelves, coolers, walk-ins, stainless steel surfaces, and storage areas
Assist with kitchen cleaning schedules and maintenance tasks
Help receive and store deliveries as needed
Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals
Safely use cleaning chemicals and follow all safety procedures
Support food service operations by prioritizing essential service items during busy periods
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards
Attend departmental meetings and complete additional assigned duties
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Dependable attendance and strong teamwork skills
Food safety certification preferred or ability to obtain
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout shifts
Comfortable working in a hot, humid, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment
