The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Applebee's to find qualified candidates for a Dishwasher in Staten Island, New York. Applebee's is a U.S.-based casual dining restaurant chain known for its American-style menu and relaxed, neighborhood-themed atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, chicken dishes, appetizers, and beverages, offering affordable, sit-down dining in a family-friendly setting.

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in a timely manner. This role ensures all items are properly sanitized and available for kitchen staff, maintains clean dishwashing and kitchen areas, removes trash and recyclables, and assists with basic cleaning duties. The Dishwasher supports the kitchen team while following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards to help maintain an efficient back-of-house operation.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York. 

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized dish area, kitchen workspace, and storage areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning, restocking, and basic support tasks as needed.
• Remove trash and maintain proper waste disposal procedures.
• Ensure adequate supplies of clean dishes and equipment are available during service.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to support smooth restaurant operations.

• Must have at least 1 year of recent experience as a dishwasher in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen area.
• Knowledge of proper handling and storage of dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
