Dishwasher / Steward

Position Overview

Breeden's Orchard is seeking a reliable and energetic Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward to join our team during our bustling autumn season. As the fall harvest brings guests to the orchard for fresh cider, baked goods, and seasonal treats, our kitchen relies on a clean, safe, and efficient environment.

In this role, you will play a vital behind-the-scenes part in keeping our bakery and kitchen operations running smoothly. We are looking for a team player with a strong work ethic who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, baking pans, utensils, equipment, and kitchen tools.
• Maintain clean, organized, and dry work areas, dish stations, and storage areas.
• Keep dishwashing chemicals, soaps, and supplies stocked and monitor dish station temperature and sanitation levels.
• Empty trash cans, recycling, and compost containers regularly throughout the day.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wipe down counters, and assist with end-of-day closing sanitation routines.
• Assist kitchen and bakery staff with light restocking, prep work, or organzing supplies during peak rushes as needed.
• Follow all local health codes, sanitation guidelines, and safety practices.

Requirements

• Availability: Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays throughout the autumn season.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 40–50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependability: Punctual, reliable, and committed to working scheduled weekend shifts.
• Team Mindset: Willingness to jump in, help teammates, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
• Experience: Prior kitchen or dishwashing experience is helpful, but no formal experience is required
