What You'll Do as a Dispatcher:- Coordinate daily delivery routes to maximize fleet efficiency and meet customer commitments
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve logistics-related concerns promptly
- Manage yard personnel schedules, labor allocation, time-off requests, and payroll processing
- Maintain accurate delivery, inventory transfer, and customer information within DDMS and BisTrack systems
- Monitor driver compliance with DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and required certifications
- Communicate regularly with sales, operations, drivers, and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Support safety initiatives and assist with reporting and investigating workplace incidents
What You Need to Bring to the Dispatcher Role:- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years of customer service experience; building materials or lumber industry experience preferred
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Familiarity with the Twin Cities metro area and surrounding communities
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, DDMS, and/or BisTrack software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds #metrocareers
