Our team plays a vital role in helping to build cleaner, greener communities, and we're always looking for motivated individuals who want to make a meaningful impact through their work.JOB DESCRIPTION: The Dispatcher will be responsible for the coordination of drivers, trucks, and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity, and ensure prompt, professional, courteous, and efficient service for all lines of business. Handle incoming service orders, resolve service issues and provide customer service to internal and external customers. Additional responsibility includes entering ticket information and tracking activity. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver locationsDispatch drivers to calls as they are received, utilizing information on customer needs, driver locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and speed of responseCreate and maximize capacity by ensuring productive use of all assets, equipment, and driversHandle incoming calls, e-mails, and customer issues that have been received from the Customer Service and Sales departmentsManage requests for pick-up or container delivery in a timely manner and initiate outbound calls to customers as neededTroubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and/or pick-up problems before they result in a service issueGather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick-ups), route completions, and driver locationsEnsure route completion via the driver check-in processReport and document driver performance issues, concerns, or disputes to appropriate management for resolutionCommunicate with maintenance shop personnel and serve as an emergency point of contactFollow all required safety policies and proceduresPerform other job-related duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or GEDExperience in a dispatch or similar roleMicrosoft Office experienceAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external customers Strong work ethic, demonstrating integrity, trust, and maintain confidentiality Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a team environment or as an individual contributor Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports and associated documents Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across various teams and levels Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement Work EnvironmentListed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment of the job.
