Job Summary

 

The Dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling and expediting on-time deliveries of finished products to customers' jobsites. The Dispatcher will also assist production with backlog reports and communicating customer needs to production managers. The Dispatcher will help maintain yard organization while ensuring compliance to safety policies.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Greets walk-in customers and supports them with will call order needs
  • Manages main line inbound call volume and supports general inquiries from customers
  • Proactively communicates and adjusts schedule, as needed, to accommodate customer needs
  • Proactively communicate with customer their job status and product delivery schedule
  • Support customer product returns by keeping a record of the return and completing the return form
  • Support Safety program by entering CI/PBO cards
  • Handle large volumes of phone calls in a timely manner while making accurate and precise decisions regarding prioritizing shipment pickups, deliveries, maintenance, etc.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in performing all tasks necessary to ensure that all vehicles and drivers are safe and in compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure all product is stored in correct location and dunnage is properly placed
  • Schedule workload and coordinate daily delivery schedules based on sale’s request for product and product availability
  • Verify all loads are loaded and dunnage is properly placed
  • Verify all erection materials are shipped to the jobsites as required
  • Work closely with the production to the team to determine items ready for delivery
  • Operating heavy equipment as needed
  • Coordinate with the warehouse personnel on receiving items
  • Conduct daily cycle counts of inventory and OPC items
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 

Job Requirements

 

  • At least 2 years of dispatch or customer service experience
  • Previous precast concrete experience a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Understanding of safety and transportation requirements
  • Demonstrated written / oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resource
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, Word, Outlook programs
  • Ability to operate a forklift 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the day
  • Willing to work flexible, and extended hours, if needed
