Shape the flow from grain to glass

Since 1773, Buffalo Trace Distillery has called Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky home. Family-owned and part of the Sazerac family of companies, our National Historic Landmark produces bourbon, rye, and vodka and has earned global acclaim—more than 300 awards, 17 Distillery of the Year honors from leading publications like Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate, and Wine Enthusiast, and the Icons of Whisky America “Brand Innovator of the Year” in 2015.

A day in your life

The lights flick on and you take the helm. Tank levels are right where you planned. A bulk alcohol trailer is on the pad, your batching plan is queued, and Bottling is counting on your schedule. You direct receiving, line up manual batching and automated blending, set RO water systems and filtration parameters, and make the calls that keep material, people, and tankage moving. You’re the bridge between raw spirit and a finished bottle—owning quality, pace, and safety every moment of the shift.

What you’ll drive

  • Safety leadership: Enforce DOT/Hazmat, confined space, and TTB compliance. Build a culture where zero recordables is the expectation.
  • Processing execution: Oversee manual batching, automated blending, RO water systems, and filtration. Allocate equipment, staffing, and tank capacity to keep Bottling on plan.
  • Metrics that matter: Track and improve Juice Loss %, WGs/Labor $, OT utilization, and Department OHV.
  • People and performance: Coach and develop Processing team members with fairness and accountability. Lead investigations, run safety kickoffs, and champion growth.
  • Compliance and records: Maintain complete TTB documentation (122s, 137s, calibrations, system transactions) and support internal and external audits without disruption.

What you bring

  • Required: 3+ years in processing within fast-paced manufacturing or production; proven experience supervising a team; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel); working knowledge of processing and receiving operations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ERP/MRP/WMS platforms; background in the alcohol beverage sector; experience with beverage processing equipment; exposure to union environments; understanding of inventory control and budgeting processes.

This is a third-shift role.
