Distribution Assets Coordinator

Balance hands‑on field work with strategic oversight to keep distribution assets safe, compliant, and well‑managed. By guiding workflows, supporting colleagues, and representing Minnesota Power's interests externally, this role strengthens both daily operations and long‑term asset programs.

What you''ll bring:

  • Associates degree with related coursework in electricity, engineering, line construction, line design, or GIS applications.
  • Four years or more industry experience in utility business operations, electricity, engineering, line construction, line design, or GIS applications is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to project sites.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, and/or aptitude.

What you''ll do:

  • Effectively allocate distribution asset inspection, audit, and resolution work both geographically and departmentally.
  • Joint use pole attachments, pole and line inspection and problem resolution and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Perform field work, as well as supporting others and their work progress.
  • Serve as a promoter for distribution asset issues and processes internally, and must represent Minnesota Power's interests externally. Internally, the DAC will work interdepartmentally with supervisors and staff; while external interaction with attaching companies and contractors can range from management to field workers.
  • May schedule and oversee the work of contractors or internal employees.

Compensation:

  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $67,000 - $84,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, this position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package, including an Incentive Program, Retirement Benefits, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance, Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and more.
