Payrate: $16.50/hr Friday; $19.50/hr Saturday & Sunday on W2
Schedule: Friday Sunday, 5:00 AM 5:30 PM
Job Summary
The Distribution Associate is responsible for warehouse and material distribution activities related to the shipment of products. The role involves primarily manual warehouse labor, including unloading 18-wheelers, picking, scanning, palletizing, packaging, and shipment preparation. Forklift experience is required, but this is not a straight forklift position.
Job Responsibilities
- Process customer orders by scanning barcodes, picking cases, and labeling boxes.
- Manually unload and handle materials from 18-wheelers.
- Palletize completed orders, including scanning, retrieving, and placing products on pallets.
- Operate RF scanners and other warehouse technology.
- Verify order accuracy and prepare shipments for packaging.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
- Perform dock manifest duties, including scanning completed pallets and operating a shrink wrapper.
- Operate the ground/manual manifest station as needed.
- Assist with other warehouse functions and provide backup support when required.
- Follow warehouse safety and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Previous manual warehouse labor experience required.
- Experience with material handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to obtain an electric pallet jack certification.
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
- Ability to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.
- Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- General knowledge of warehouse/distribution operations.
Physical Requirements
- Regular walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, and repetitive hand/finger movements.
- May occasionally require climbing.
- May require lifting over 50 lbs. in some areas.
- Must have sufficient vision and hearing to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
Work Environment
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
- Potential exposure to varying temperatures, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Safety precautions must be followed when working around warehouse and material handling equipment.
Important Role Requirement
This is NOT a straight forklift operator position. Candidates must have forklift experience and be comfortable performing manual warehouse labor. The majority of the work involves manually unloading 18-wheeler trucks and performing other physical warehouse duties, with only limited forklift operation.
