Position Overview:
The Distribution Center Coordinator is a key member of the plant Supply Chain team, reporting to the Materials Manager. This role is responsible for managing finished goods inventory and overseeing all inbound and outbound freight activities at the Williamsport facility.

The position supervises shipping and receiving operations across four 12-hour shift teams and additional 8-hour personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution of all distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Shipping & Logistics Coordination:
  • Review open sales orders and develop shipment plans based on product availability and customer delivery requirements.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork.
  • Adjust daily shipping plans, truck schedules, and documentation to meet operational demands.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external carriers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Review freight invoices and accessorial charges for accuracy and cost control.
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
  • Maintain accurate finished goods inventory through system transactions and physical verification.
  • Ensure proper product storage, labeling, and location management within the facility.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, part conversions, and cycle count adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee processing of customer returns, including physical receipt and system updates.
Team Leadership & Scheduling:
  • Supervise shipping and receiving personnel across multiple shifts.
  • Develop and manage weekly staffing schedules, including overtime planning and vacation coverage.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Address performance concerns and administer corrective actions when necessary.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and operation of material handling equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and shipping compliance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety and operational processes
Administrative & Systems Management:
  • Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records.
  • Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems (SAP preferred) for shipping, inventory, and reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics partners, and plant leadership.

Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations and shipping compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment requiring strong prioritization and adaptability.
  • Frequent interaction with internal teams, leadership, third-party logistics providers, and drivers.
  • May require extended or flexible hours based on operational demands.
