    Distribution Center Shift Leads help drive the continued success of our Distribution Centers (DC) by working safely and efficiently to support all functions of the DC. The Distribution Center Shift Lead will be responsible for all functions of the DC, including but not limited to, loading and unloading, order picking and processing, driving heavy equipment including forklifts, and ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained. The Distribution Center Shift Lead position focuses on the mastery of skills associated with all DC operations along with training and coaching other DC Associates. Distribution Center Shift Leads are responsible for developing the skills necessary to work within the fast paced and detailed environment. Success in this role is measured in the technician's ability to learn new skills, provide excellent customer service, and promote an atmosphere of teamwork within the organization.

    Job Functions:

    • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained distribution center through adherence to safety standards, equipment inspections, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
    • Support warehouse operations through loading, unloading, order processing, inventory movement, and accurate shipment handling using warehouse management systems and handheld technology.
    • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and stock management tools, while maintaining safe operating practices and equipment readiness.
    • Coordinate daily workflow by allocating labor, delegating tasks, and partnering with leadership to achieve productivity and production goals.
    • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory audits, and proper product storage and handling procedures.
    • Train, coach, and support team members while serving as a subject matter expert on distribution center processes and warehouse management systems.

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years of experience working in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment.
    • 2+ years of experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment in an industrial setting.
    • Forklift certification required; training certification preferred.
    • Experience coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, and supporting operational productivity goals.
    • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and store inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
    • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.

    Skills and Demands:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills with the ability to train and support team members.
    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), handheld scanners, inventory controls, and shipping/receiving processes.
    • Ability to safely operate forklifts, rider jacks, cherry pickers, and other warehouse equipment.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Ability to navigate computers, warehouse technology, and operational systems as part of daily responsibilities.
    • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds, and work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
