Salary Range: $96,531 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)

Your Role: Distribution Design Supervisor

The Supervisor I, Distribution Design leads a team of distribution designers and drafters responsible for producing overhead and underground distribution design deliverables, including staking sheets, pole loading, framing, and construction work plans. This role assigns and reviews design work for accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to client construction standards, and provides day‑to‑day technical guidance and mentorship to designers. The supervisor coordinates with engineers, project managers, and clients to track design production schedules and resolve technical or workload issues, and supports staffing planning and performance management for the design team.

What You'll Do

  • Assign, schedule, and review the daily work of distribution designers and drafters to meet project deadlines and quality standards

  • Review distribution design deliverables, including staking sheets, pole loading, framing, and construction work plans, for accuracy, NESC compliance, and adherence to client construction standards

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to designers and drafters on distribution design standards, tools, and best practices

  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to track design production schedules, resolve technical or workload issues, and communicate design status

  • Support staffing planning, workload balancing, and resource allocation across the design team

  • Interpret and apply client-specific design standards, specifications, and utility construction requirements

  • Participate in performance management for design staff, including feedback, development planning, and input on hiring decision

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of distribution design experience, including overhead and underground distribution

  • Prior experience mentoring, leading, or reviewing the work of other designers preferred

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or comparable distribution design software

  • Working knowledge of NESC requirements and utility distribution construction standards

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects and competing deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Bluebeam/PDF markup tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give clear direction and constructive feedback
