Job Description:

This position will provide distribution design for overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems from 4kV through 69kV. They will design activities, including quality reviews of the design, monitor and maintain project schedules, report changes that affect the schedule and budget, identify risks that may affect schedule and costs, and presenting opportunities to improve the design and construction of distribution projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee preparation of design documents for construction, including plan and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Create safe and cost-effective designs for projects of a moderate to difficult nature in the areas of electric power system

overhead or underground distribution.

  • Apply various codes, requirements, regulations, policies and procedures to all assigned work.
  • Reference and comply with client/company policies and procedures in the development of moderately difficult to complex

site designs for electrical distribution facilities to serve a variety of customers.

  • Perform distribution system calculations including equipment sizing, electric load calculations, and pole loading analysis.
  • Perform field work as required to validate customer and system conditions
  • Communicate with client and engineers on system requirements, identify Right of Way for proposed equipment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience of design experience using AutoCAD, preferably electrical or utility design experience
  • Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer aided (CAD) design or in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience and/or education

This is a Contract position based out of Bellevue, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
