JOB SUMMARY:
To apply warehousing and maintenance practices and procedures; oversee stock control; follow delivery schedules; operate maintenance and warehouse machinery; execute delivery and general facility maintenance work orders, as assigned. To help and support the Germantown School District in providing students and staff with safe and efficient facilities.
JOB DESRIPTION:
Distribution and Maintenance Technician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs daily inter district mail route duties, and deliveries assigned through the district work order system.
Receives and inspects materials, equipment and/or supplies delivered on purchase orders and packing slips; works with logistic contractors for proper location of deliveries and pick-ups.
Loads and unloads trucks/trailers; operates a forklift and pallet jack.
Orders monthly & annual stock of supplies, and ensures that current amounts are adequate.
Maintains the warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Perform general maintenance repairs District-wide, as assigned.
Recognize on-the-job safety practices and procedures.
Performs district-wide grounds maintenance work such as plowing, salting, grass cutting, tree pruning/removal, etc., as directed.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule
Substitute custodian. Typical routine duties include, but are not limited to, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, and securing buildings.
Performs general maintenance in various areas such as painting, concrete repair, plumbing, heating, roofing, and electrical (switches/lights/ballasts/etc.).
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Operate and maintain hand and power tools and other equipment used in facility & grounds maintenance.
Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local, and Board of Education guidelines.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
