Job Title: Distribution Project Manager

Location: Remote- but must be local to Atlanta, GA

Rate: $60-70/hr

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Project Manager to support a portfolio of field-driven reliability and system improvement projects across the state. This role will be responsible for overseeing more than 100 projects in various stages of development and execution, ensuring approved projects progress efficiently from initiation through closeout.

The ideal candidate will have a strong construction project management background with proven experience coordinating resources, tracking project progress, managing estimates, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams. This is not an engineering-focused role; rather, it is centered on project execution, construction coordination, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of reliability and system improvement projects from approval through completion.
  • Coordinate project execution activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and progress efficiently toward closeout.
  • Monitor material requirements and verify that necessary equipment and materials are available to support project timelines.
  • Ensure permitting requirements are identified and secured prior to construction activities.
  • Partner closely with construction teams to coordinate labor and resource allocation across multiple projects.
  • Track project costs, estimates, schedules, and status updates using established project tracking and estimating tools.
  • Identify potential project risks, resource constraints, and schedule conflicts, and work proactively to resolve issues.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and closeout records.
  • Support prioritization and execution of projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a strong emphasis on construction-related projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects in various stages of execution.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, resource planning, material management, and permitting requirements.
  • Experience with project estimating, scheduling, and tracking tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with field personnel, construction teams, and stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility industry experience.
  • Experience supporting electric, gas, transmission, distribution, reliability, infrastructure, or system improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with utility construction practices and field operations.
