Position Overview:


Provides competent distribution of supplies and equipment to the facility departments mostly independently. Performs receiving and unpacking of supplies, rotates stock and checks for outdates materials and supplies as needed. Builds confidence and cooperation across lower-level staff and healthcare workers through highly competent job performance and effective communication. Adheres to and enforces local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure the privacy and safety of our patients. May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department. May be authorized to transport, control and deliver legend drugs and dangerous devices - including needles and syringes, non-prescription drugs, contrast media, and drug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:


DISTRIBUTION SERVICES

• Responsible for counting, replenishing, and distributing critical supplies and equipment.

• Meticulously unpacks supplies, rotates stock and checks for outdates.

• Ensures adequate supplies and materials are readily on hand for floor stock.

• Coordinates parcel receipts and delivery from various shipping companies.

• Processes, files and reviews all associated paperwork.

• Ensures distribution transactions input into ERP on a daily basis.

• Prioritizes delivery of ordered materials and supplies to various departments.

• Performs and coordinates duties, according to policy and procedure, in an expedient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Operates and troubleshoots equipment and technology necessary for job performance.

• Enforces routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.


CLERICAL

• Maintains departmental requisition files, filing of receivers and other related records, retrieving records requested to assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and related problems.

• Retrieves messages and requests and responds in a timely manner.

• Utilizes computer system to obtain receiving information as needed and to report any discrepancies.

• Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones and interacting with customers and patients on a daily basis.

• Prepares and completes accurate, job-related documentation, including maintaining a detailed log of requests and assignments.

• May assist with mail/courier duties.

• May initiate and maintain asset tagging of equipment.


SAFETY

• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment.

• Performs job responsibilities in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of service.


EDUCATION:


HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:


1 year recent relevant experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE


Possess written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.


Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.


Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), EPIC, and related information systems.


Interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.


Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.


Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.


Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).


Build collaborate relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
