Contract Distribution Technician
Location: Onsite (with some remote flexibility) Areas: Greensburg, Altoona, Reading, or York, PA (must be local to one) Duration: 2-year contract with potential for conversion to full-time Reports To: Supervisor, Regional Operations – Line & SubstationProject Assignment: Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP)
Position Summary
The Contract Distribution Technician will provide dedicated support for LTIIP projects, ensuring timely execution of critical infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating materials, supporting engineering and commissioning activities, maintaining accurate system data, and assisting with project tracking.
This position is fully allocated to LTIIP budgets and plays a key role in mitigating operational risks due to staffing gaps and increased workload.
Key Responsibilities
Material Management
- Review and verify material lists for accuracy
- Monitor delivery schedules and track incoming shipments
- Communicate delays or issues to crews and leadership
- Coordinate urgent material needs with local Distribution Technicians
Engineering & Commissioning
- Track engineering prints and project development progress
- Coordinate commissioning activities with external resources
- Escalate engineering or commissioning delays to leadership
Data Entry & Systems
- Maintain accurate equipment records in Cascade
- Ensure proper entry of nameplates, triggers, serial numbers, and service dates
Project Tracking
- Update tracking tools for material and engineering timelines
- Support future planning, including Cascade orders and RPAs
Operational Support
- Assist external crews with local coordination
- Support long-term infrastructure project development
Qualifications
- Experience in substation operations or a related technical field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with material management processes
- Familiarity with engineering workflows
- Proficiency in data entry and systems (Cascade preferred)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
