The Distribution & Transportation Engineer serves as the Business Process Champion in the Inventory to Delivery portion of the Order to Cash process.. This person is the primary technical owner and super user for distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance to improve productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse operations, supply chain systems, systems integration, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. They will be responsible for managing and optimizing distribution related systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Yard Management System (YMS), supporting end users, leading system enhancements, and driving operational excellence through technology. They also support distribution systems integration of new businesses into Trex.

Distribution Management Systems
Serve as the primary Distribution & Transportation (D&T) super user and subject matter expert for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), Yard Management System (YMS) and future systems such as Labor Management System (LMS).
Maintain and optimize systems to support changing business requirements and operational processes.
Monitor performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions; support continuous improvements.
Coordinate system upgrades, patches, testing, and deployments in partnership with IT and software vendors.
Develop and maintain system documentation, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
Systems Integration and Support
Understand and support integrations between WMS, YMS, LMS, ERP, automation, and other systems.
Problem-solve system issues and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams and external vendors.
Partner with IT to participate in testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and validation of system changes.
Ensure data integrity across multiple platforms and business applications.
Training and Change Management
Provide training on systems and processes to support operational leaders and end users.
Develop training materials and user guides for new functionality and process changes.
Support organizational change management efforts associated with system implementations and upgrades.
Continuous Improvement and Analytics
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, and service levels through system enhancements.
Apply data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Develop dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to support operational decision-making.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and leverage technology-enabled solutions.
Operations and IT Liaison
Act as the key interface between Distribution and IT teams.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements and process improvements.
Translate operational needs into technical requirements and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
Facilitate communication and issue resolution between operational users and technical support teams.
Lead cross-functional meetings and projects related to systems improvements and technology initiatives.

EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 3 - 7+ years of experience supporting warehouse operations, supply chain systems, or distribution center technology.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience working within a distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
Experience administering or supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), and Yard Management Systems (YMS)
Knowledge of WMS, LMS, ERP, and supply chain system integrations
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence
Preferred Skills & Experience

SALARY
Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 annually
The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
