Scouting District Coordinator - Greater Twin Cities Metro Area
Northern Star Scouting offers an exciting position that provides you with growth opportunities in leadership, volunteer management and community relations. You will lead, support and guide adult volunteers in Scouting as the teams point person in your assigned territory within the greater Twin Cities metro area.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a pay range of $35,500 - $69,600, with newly hired employees starting at an annual of salary of $45,000. Generous benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid life-insurance, salary continuation, long-term disability, and a retirement plan with employer match. We offer paid time off (equivalent of 16 days annually for new hires) and 12 annual holidays. This position requires flexibility and in turn, your work schedule is flexible. Frequent travel within the assigned territory is required. Must maintain a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and motor vehicle insurance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit volunteer leadership for program needs and maintain strong relationships
- Support units to achieve goals related to growing Scouting in the communities
- Form partnerships with religious, civic, educational, and other community organizations
- Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, and events
Essential skills
- Ability to build and empower a team, build relationships, and connect with communities
- Must possess effective organizational and communication skills
- Must have time and project management skills, with ability to troubleshoot
- Must be comfortable with public speaking, able to work effectively with diverse audiences
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent
- Must be age 21 or older unless prohibited by any applicable law
- Experience in Scouting or other youth organization is helpful, though not required
- Solid management, written and verbal communication problem-solving skills are required
- Must be a team leader and player; build relationships and communicate effectively
