The Role

We are hiring an experienced District Manager to lead three high-volume Ben & Jerry's scoop shops in New Jersey. This is a hands-on, multi-unit leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced food or retail environments, holds teams accountable, and drives results through people and process.

This is not an entry-level management role. We need someone who has already led multiple locations, managed through managers, and owned the full P&L of a multi-unit operation. You will be on the floor, in the numbers, and actively developing managers and teams across locations -- not just checking in.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, in-shop role (Spring-Fall peak season)
  • 52 hours per week -- flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays required
  • Travel between Hoboken, Ridgewood & Riverwalk (mileage reimbursed)

This role is for someone who thrives in person, on the floor, in the energy of a busy shop -- not behind a desk.

Compensation & Benefits

What You'll Own

  • Daily operations across three locations: staffing, scheduling, training, and execution
  • Coaching and developing 25-40 team members, including shift leads and managers
  • Running the EOS operating cadence: Level 10 meetings, Rocks, Scorecards, and accountability structures across your shops
  • Being present and hands-on during peak periods -- stepping in wherever the team needs you
  • Holding brand standards for guest experience, food safety, cleanliness, and equipment
  • Managing end-to-end cake orders, catering, and local events -- meeting deadlines and maximizing revenue
  • Inventory management, labor costs, payroll accuracy, and expense control
  • Reviewing performance data, identifying issues, and bringing solutions to leadership

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an operator who has already done this -- someone who doesn't need the role explained to them, just needs the team and the tools.

Required:

  • 3+ years of multi-unit leadership experience in food service, hospitality, or retail -- managing multiple locations simultaneously, not sequentially
  • Demonstrated experience leading through managers (not just leading frontline teams directly)
  • Proven ownership of labor, food cost, and P&L at the multi-unit level
  • Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) -- ideally having worked in an EOS-run organization; at minimum, genuine curiosity and willingness to adopt it fully from day one
  • Strong communicator who gives clear, direct feedback and follows through
  • Comfortable with data: reading reports, identifying trends, and acting on numbers
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally between three NJ locations

You're a strong fit if you:

  • Have run weekly accountability meetings with your management team and can describe how you tracked performance against goals
  • Know what a Scorecard, Rock, and L10 meeting are -- or are hungry to learn
  • Can describe a time you turned around a struggling location through coaching, not just presence
  • Lead by example without micromanaging -- your managers run the shop; you develop them to run it better
  • Take ownership when things go wrong and can articulate what you changed as a result

This role is not a fit if:

  • Your multi-unit experience is limited to covering shifts across locations rather than owning operations
  • You're looking for a desk-based or primarily administrative role
  • EOS is new to you and you're not ready to commit to learning and running it
