Overview

The District Manager is responsible for overseeing janitorial operations across multiple client sites within an assigned district. This role ensures service excellence, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, financial performance, and compliance with company and safety standards. The District Manager leads site managers and supervisors, develops team members, and serves as the primary point of contact for clients.

Compensation: $52.,000.00 /annual salary (US Dollars)

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of multiple janitorial accounts within the assigned district.
  • Ensure contract compliance and delivery of services according to client expectations and company standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and site visits.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and coach supervisors and frontline team members.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, labor utilization, and employee retention efforts.
  • Monitor district financial performance, including labor costs, supplies, equipment expenses, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and ensure adherence to financial goals.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns, service issues, and employee relations matters promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, safety programs, and applicable labor laws.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and training programs to promote a culture of safety.
  • Support business growth through participation in account startups, transitions, and client retention efforts.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and business reviews for leadership and clients.
  • Oversee inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in janitorial, facilities, or service operations management.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts and indirect reports across a geographic territory.
  • Strong knowledge of janitorial practices, cleaning equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Proven success managing budgets, labor costs, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and workforce management systems.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned district.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
