Job Title: District Manager (100-mile radius of Victoria, Texas)

Classification: Exempt

Founded in 2013, Third Coast Distributing is part of a global service organization that distributes automotive and industrial replacement parts.Doing business as NAPA Auto Parts, TCD serves thousands of customers through an independent network across South and Central Texas.

About the Role:

The District Manager is responsible for the financial performance, people leadership, operational excellence, and overall success of multiple store locations. This role drives store performance by coaching and developing Store Managers, establishing goals, supporting problem-solving and process improvement initiatives, setting operational standards, and recognizing outstanding performance.

 

The district is typically comprised of 9 -12 stores in a geographic area. The District Manager is expected to live within 40 miles of the midpoint of their area, and preferably within their area. Position reports directly to the VP of Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive district-wide sales growth by executing business strategies, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring stores consistently achieve revenue objectives.
  • Maximize district profitability through effective management of sales performance, labor, expenses, inventory, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to store management teams, ensuring alignment with company goals, policies, and performance expectations.
  • Analyze key business metrics, sales trends, and financial reports to identify opportunities, address challenges, and improve overall district performance.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company initiatives, merchandising standards, operational procedures, and customer service expectations across all locations.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing store leaders while building a strong talent pipeline for future growth and succession planning.
  • Establish a culture of accountability by setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular store visits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate store operations to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with store leadership to develop action plans that improve sales, customer experience, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster a customer-focused culture that enhances brand reputation, drives customer loyalty, and supports long-term business growth.

About You:       

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High School Degree or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • 4 + years’ experience in the automotive after-market service industry; multi-unit retail store management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently and with a team.
  • Experience working cross functionally and gaining consensus to make informed decisions and recommendations.  Travel is expected to be >50% of working time, including regular visits to assigned store locations; must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license.

Essential Physical Requirements

·        Prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, keyboarding, and use of standard office equipment.

·        Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.

·        Occasional standing, walking, and lifting or carrying office materials up to 15 pounds.

·        Frequent travel between assigned stores, customer accounts, and prospective clients.

·        Ability to perform duties in a typical office environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

·        In stores, ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 60 pounds.
