ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Confidentiality of budget accounts and personnel information

  2. Payroll Preparation: Regular semi-monthly payrolls, extra duty, retroactive pay

  3. Set up new employees and terminate past employees into skyward

  4. Manage 403b retirement plan

  5. Manage the Wisconsin Retirement System for employees

  6. Manage enrollment, salary changes, and terminations to Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Supplemental Life Insurance, and Dependent Life Insurance

  7. Manage employee garnishments and cash in lieu of health

  8. Assist all staff via phone calls/email with any payroll questions or issues

  9. Process void and/or reissue payrolls as needed

  10. Prepare and submit employment verifications

  11. Update Skyward with any employee changes

  12. Process True Time for hourly employees

  13. Complete manual worksheets (miscellaneous, lost pay, co-curricular, semester pay, etc)

  14. Process any payroll variances (health, dental, vision, life, LTD, STD, SLF, DLF, EBC, HSA)

  15. Reconcile, process, and complete vouchers for all payroll invoices including federal and state taxes, garnishments, 403b, HSA, WEA, Delta Dental/Vision, life insurances, WRS, EBC

  16. Manage HSA & FSA enrollment (Medical FSA, Limited FSA, Dependent Care FSA)

  17. Assist with health, dental, and vision open enrollment

  18. Process individual Retro payrolls for all staff

  19. Audit Reporting: Prepare payroll records for District annual audit and Worker's compensation audit reporting

  20. Reconcile, complete, and submit the WRS annual report

  21. Process taxable life insurance benefit

  22. Complete NIS (life insurance) census

  23. Complete and submit the Nondiscrimination Testing

  24. Process W2s and submit

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma, with some course work in office education preferred

  2. Bookkeeping and excellent math skills necessary -

  3. Skilled in computer-related data entry and knowledge of computer programs.

  4. Skyward Financial Management software experience preferred

  5. Previous School District Office experience preferred

  6. Knowledge of filing, record-keeping, and both written and electronic correspondence

  7. Ability to give attention to detail must keep perfectly accurate records

  8. Stability, maturity, and ability to work with all levels of employees

  9. Dedication and loyalty (must work any time off around payroll dates

  10. Ability to work under pressure with constant deadlines

  11. Ability to concentrate on own work while in an open-concept environment

  12. Ability to deal with interruptions and still complete needed tasks by deadlines
