Job Summary

The District Retail Merchandiser coordinates a variety of field projects including new store sets, re-sets, and conversions to ensure that the company provides value added services to customers within the assigned district. Pay for this role is $22-23 an hour, but is based on experience. This role comes with a company car and gas card.

Travel weekly is required for this position.

Essential Job Functions*

Works with District Manager to plan, schedule, and implement projects. Addresses and resolves issues in a timely manner.Coordinates the successful assembly of product displays according to plan-o-gram, new item placement, and merchandising systems at customer retail locations.Leads temporary employees and third-party merchandisers at customer locations.Maintains excellent customer relations at the store level.Serves as a back up to Territory Managers as needed.Maintains ongoing communication with District Manager. Submits required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.Maintains required records and manages expenses within company budgets.Maintains a current knowledge of company products, field operations, and customer account specifications.Travels constantly within district or region.Work involves frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and lifting.Work involves exposure to dust and occasional dirty conditions.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalentTwo years merchandising experience, in retail environment.Knowledge of Word, Excel, and WindowsKnowledge of plan-o-grams - able to work off plan-o-grams in an efficient manner.

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organization, planning skills, and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public.Willing to travel 80 - 90% of the time when needed.Maintains a valid driver license and vehicle insurance.Frequent overnight travel may be required.Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift 50 pounds.
