Overview

Our client is a well-established industrial equipment service organization providing specialized technical support, equipment management, and field services across multiple operational sites.

They are seeking an experienced District Service Manager to oversee the performance, administration, and personnel within a designated district. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day operations across service, parts, yard, and office functions while ensuring strong customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong operational mindset, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to developing and supporting high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

District Operations Management

  • Supervise and direct all district operations including service, parts, yard, shop, and administrative functions

  • Ensure efficient day-to-day workflow and alignment across all operational areas

  • Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and operational priorities to meet customer and business requirements

  • Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Leadership & Personnel Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop district employees across multiple functions

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support employee development

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work culture

  • Address employee relations issues in collaboration with HR, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes

  • Motivate teams to achieve operational and service goals

Customer & Vendor Relations

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and vendors

  • Ensure high levels of customer service, responsiveness, and communication

  • Participate in customer meetings as required for project coordination and service delivery

  • Support resolution of customer issues in a timely and professional manner

Inventory, Equipment & Logistics Management

  • Oversee parts and inventory control, ensuring accuracy and proper stock management

  • Ensure incoming equipment is inspected, documented, and stored appropriately

  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, and logistics, including freight coordination and scheduling

  • Ensure proper loading and secure transport of equipment and materials

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures at all times

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry standards

  • Conduct safety inspections and report unsafe conditions or practices

  • Promote proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices

  • Support training and reinforcement of safety programs across the district

Administrative & Reporting

  • Ensure timely completion of required documentation and reporting to corporate leadership

  • Maintain accurate operational records, inventory documentation, and service reports

  • Manage purchasing of office and shop supplies as required

  • Support audit readiness and compliance requirements

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in operations management, service management, or branch/district leadership

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-functional teams

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with inventory management, logistics coordination, and customer service operations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general business systems

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and operational manuals

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license (required)

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Forklift certification (may be required)

  • Equipment operator or safety-related certifications considered an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling

  • Ability to work at heights and in outdoor/industrial environments

  • Occasional travel and field/site visits required

  • Ability to work extended hours, including overtime and on-call availability as needed
