District Short-Term Substitute

The School District of Shiocton is developing an ongoing pool of Short Term Substitute candidates. This position will remain open with applicants reviewed on an ongoing basis. Successful candidates will demonstrate a drive to teach and work with students. Applicants should be energetic with a strong desire to also work with parents, colleagues, and administration to meet the needs of our students. Successful candidates will also have demonstrated effective instructional practices.

The ideal candidate will:

• Follow and implement the approved District curriculum and substitute lesson plans
• Have experience providing instruction to elementary, and/or middle and high school students
• Remain educationally current
• Use appropriate strategies for classroom management
• Exhibit flexibility in matching content to learner's level of development
• Demonstrate respect, fairness, and consistency when working with students and staff
• Collaborate with teachers to develop, refine, and deliver high quality instruction for our students
• Create an engaging, challenging, and age-appropriate classroom environment that aligns with state standards and encourages all students to achieve high levels of learning
• Demonstrate and utilize strong communication
• Foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity and maintain a positive and safe learning environment
• Guide and supervise groups of students, maintaining a positive learning environment, and foster a positive attitude toward learning
• Maintain confidentiality
• Abide by District policies and state regulations.
