PART I: SUMMARY OF POSITION Round Lake Area Schools is launching a district system validation process to ensure that essential educational tools and platforms are fully operational for the start of the school year. We are seeking experienced and system-savvy teachers to serve on a cross-functional validation team. This initiative is critical to streamlining system performance, ensuring data readiness, and reducing disruptions for staff and students when school begins.

PART II: MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B. CREDENTIALS: Current RLAS teachers returning for the next school year with an evaluation rating of Proficient or higher.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • District systems including but not limited to: Canvas, iReady, Benchmark, Ellevation, Branching Minds, Embrace, HMH platforms, ALEKS, Nearpod, ParentSquare, and Seesaw
  • Data access and usage within instructional platforms
  • Workflow expectations for classroom, school, and district-level operations
  • Navigating and troubleshooting common system issues
  • Clear documentation and communication of findings
  • Collaborating remotely via Microsoft Teams
  • Identifying inconsistencies in user access, data, and platform behavior
  • Follow structured validation procedures and protocols
  • Represent the user experience for various roles (e.g., teacher, student, admin)
  • Think critically to test system functionality in realistic scenarios
  • Communicate effectively with district technology and teaching & learning team members
  • Work independently while managing time effectively during the validation window

  • Participate in a district-led system validation process during the identified validation week
  • Validate assigned systems based on personal access and expertise
  • Conduct real-world tests of system functionality including login, data access, rostering, grading, and communication workflows
  • Submit detailed feedback on each system tested, using district-provided documentation templates
  • Respond to Google comments and attend Microsoft Teams virtual meetings as needed during the validation period
  • Collaborate with team members and district staff to resolve issues and confirm readiness
  • Contribute to recommendations for improving staff onboarding and system usage based on validation findings
