The Treasurer/Bookkeeper shall be responsible for maintaining the financial records of the district, oversee the processing of payroll and accounts payable, preparing financial reports, safeguarding district funds, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Financial Management

  • Prepare State reporting for Cycles 8, 9 and 1
  • Maintain accurate financial records for all district funds
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and investment accounts
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures
  • Maintain accurate records for property & vehicle insurance
  • Prepare annual 1099's and report to proper government officials Payroll and Benefits
  • Prepare & report Affordable Care Act information to employees & government officials
  • Process payroll for all district employees
  • Maintain payroll records and tax reporting
  • Coordinate employee benefits deductions and payments
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
  • Maintain teacher retirement records & reporting Treasurer Duties
  • Oversee deposits, and account for district funds
  • Manage investments in accordance with board policy and state law
  • Monitor cash flow and fund balances
  • Prepare financial information for school board meetings
  • Assist with annual audits and state reporting requirements Compliance and Reporting
  • Prepare state and federal financial reports
  • Maintain records required by auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and financial regulations
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets
  • Obtain and maintain CASBO certification Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of school finance regulations
  • Experience with Arkansas public school accounting systems (if applicable)
  • Understanding of budgeting and fund accounting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
