Thomas Jefferson University seeks a visionary and collaborative academic physician leader to serve as the next Division Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery within the Department of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and Enterprise Physician Leader for Vascular Surgery to take a major role in developing and overseeing vascular surgery clinical activities in an integrated model for the Jefferson Health Enterprise.As Division Director, the successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and will provide direct oversight of the Division’s 5 full-time vascular surgeons, Advanced Practice Clinicians, and Fellows along with its clinical portfolio, ensuring that state-of-the-art clinical care is provided. The Division Director will also support the growth and development of the Division’s faculty, and the continued development of the department’s clinical research portfolio. They will ensure an outstanding clinical educational experience for the department’s medical students, residents and fellows, assuring that the department is able to attract top talent in recruitment of faculty and trainees. The Division Director will also serve on the Executive Committee of the Bruce & Robbi Toll Heart and Vascular Institute working closely with the Institute Director, Dr. Joseph Bavaria. As a member of the executive committee, they will serve as the strategic lead in determining how vascular surgery is delivered across Jefferson Hospitals and practice sites. Said Ibrahim, MD, MBA, MPH, serves as the Anthony F. and Gertrude M. DePalma Dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College. In addition to being the College’s 25th Dean, Dr. Ibrahim is an internal medicine physician, educator, administrator, and clinician‑investigator. He is nationally recognized for his work to address health disparities and was inducted into the National Academy of Medicine in 2023. As Dean, he also serves as President of Jefferson University Physicians (JUP), the College’s faculty practice plan, which includes more than 630 full‑time faculty across 33 specialties and primary care. JUP’s 105 practice sites collectively manage nearly 800,000 patient visits each year.

Its 32 hospital campuses and more than 700 care sites are supported by over 4,300 employed physicians, more than 2,500 advanced practice professionals, and more than 13,600 nurses.

Jefferson Health Plans
In 2021, Jefferson Health became the sole owner of Jefferson Health Plans, becoming the region’s first health system to establish an aligned payer‑provider partnership. The not‑for‑profit managed health maintenance organization now serves more than 360,000 members across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, offering a range of coverage options including Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
