Overview:
The Office of Aging & Disabled Services is the state-designated area agency on aging to advocate, plan, coordinate, and provide area-wide programs and services for senior citizens and disabled persons residing in the County. The office serves as the connecting link between County government, state government, and local communities in the development of various programs and initiatives.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:15 (35 hours/week)

Oversee daily operations of Client & Caregiver Services Division staff. Includes ongoing operational assessment and the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure high quality, efficient service delivery. Supervision of staff - approximately 4.
Lead administrative authority for Client & Caregiver Services Division including:
- Plans, organizes and administers direct service programs including support services in accordance with appropriate federal or state guidelines;
- Develops program policies and procedures;
- Develops and coordinates training to ensure staff maintain appropriate certification/knowledge;
- Assists in preparing bid specs;
- Assures compliance with HIPPA, local, state and federal regulations/statutes;
- Primary Client & Caregiver Services Division liaison to state and federal officials, as well as municipal and county units;
- Utilize the state and county designated database to capture all required components of the contact as well as to enter unit(s) of service provided. Enter data into other database systems, as assigned.
- General knowledge about all the programs the Office offers, as well as community resources.
- Knowledge of the issues associated with aging and/or disability and caregiving.
- Ability to respond to the needs of older adults, caregivers of older persons and/or persons living with disabilities.
- Ensure monthly program billing is reviewed accurately and processed in a timely manner.
- Prepare budgets, analyze trends/program statistics.
- Prepares accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- Maintain essential records and files.
- Devises, implements and evaluates quality assurance initiatives and develops response plans to ensure ongoing program quality improvement.
- Lead in reviewing all program applications.
- Ensures all information submitted with a program application is complete and accurate prior to moving forward for approval and/or denial.
- Required to conduct home/community visits as necessary.
- Required to pass, within first year or employment, and maintain SHIP (Medicare) trainer counselor.
- Perform all other responsibilities assigned.
- Works to promote a healthy work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory/management experience and organization-level responsibilities.
- Demonstrated managerial skills in areas including but not limited to decision-making, interpersonal, administrative judgment, delegation, development of staff and organizational awareness
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in interdepartmental/divisional cooperation/liaison.
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to quality assurance as it relates to customer service/public relations.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree a plus.
- Computer skill proficiency: Word, Excel.
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is:
- $57,000 - $67,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
