Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

This position is responsible for:

Monitors the volunteer programs throughout the division; trains field level Volunteer Coordinator's, Development Departments, Area Commanders, and Corps Officers throughout the division on recruiting and training Volunteers; prepares statistics, records and reports regarding the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the Golden Volunteer Platform
  • Provides key managerial support for the divisional volunteer programs. provides or assists with developing informational materials for the public. .
  • Confers with the field officers regarding the status and performance of the volunteer program; prepares records and reports regarding the same.
  • Prepares and updates volunteer packets and policy information to coincide with Salvation Army guidelines, and National Volunteer guidelines and procedures; provide field locations with materials including guidelines to better assist them in running and managing their volunteer efforts;
  • Participates in local professional associations in order to promote networking and continued development of skills and expertise in the field of volunteer program management.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, business, communications, or related field AND
  • Two years' experience recruiting people to perform work on a volunteer basis,
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Valid Driver's License
