Job Description
Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma DLO Location: Oklahoma City, OK Hours: Varying Days 22:00-06:00
Essential Functions
Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift. Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities. Maintain a positive professional and supportive attitude throughout the workday. Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment.
Responsibilities
• Performs routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and microbiology. • Assists with specimen processing as needed. • Follows employer and hospital policies. • Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. • Main responsibility will be duties in the clinical laboratory. • Additional duties will include assisting supervisors/ managers with special projects/assignments.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge
• Good understanding of laboratory procedures. • Ability to troubleshoot problems to identify cause and synthesize alternatives. • Clear and effective communication. • Ability to react positively with coworkers. • Ability to use independent judgement to solve problems. • Ability to manage time, prioritize, and delegate. • Good computer skills (a plus). • Knowledge in Epic and MediaLab (a plus).
Required Experience
• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology. • ASCP MTMLT certification or equivalent, or be eligible for national MTMLT certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements
The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: • Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently. • Objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally. • Objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried. • Objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. Frequent walking and/or standing. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses, all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

• Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. • Reflect the companys values in all aspects of performance. • Must be a team player. • Keyboard skills are important. • Good customer service skills, professional appearance, and attitude are required. • Must be willing to work overtime or other timeshifts if required. • This part-time position must be willing to work when needed, which includes weekends and holidays. • Show up for work on time and prepared to perform all tasks and processes each scheduled workday and to remain performing those duties throughout the entire assigned work schedule for that day.
