SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities in the Cage Department are performed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, and established company policies, procedures and controls.
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of (3) three years cage supervisory/managerial experience.
Preferred:
- Minimum of (3) three years in accounting, preferable in banking operations.
- Associate degree in accounting, business administration or related area from a college or university; or (4) four to (6) six years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualification Requirements
The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills. The candidate must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
Language Skills
- The candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as technical journals, and financial reports. The candidate must possess the ability to respond to common inquiries and concerns voiced by casino guests. The candidate must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- The candidate must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. He/she must also maintain the ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Special Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a license issued by the SWO Gaming Commission.
- Must complete a 90-day probationary period.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, implements, and directs departmental procedures which enable the Cage to function more effectively.
- Maintains adequate staffing levels in the Cage, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, and promoting, disciplining and recommending the termination of team members as needed.
- Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by team members under his/her span of control.
- Monitors all financial activities, which relate to the Cage, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls of the company, the Federl and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the property.
- Assists the Cage Operations Manager in the creation and administration of the departmental operation budget and budget controls.
- Assists in the establishment of production standards and goals, and regularly evaluates departmental progress, revising standards and goals as needed.
- Coordinates the audits of bank summary boards, customer deposits and rotation logs, ensuring appropriate coverage on each bank; develops an effective system of checks and balances.
- Assists the Cage Shift Supervisors in understanding the complexities of certain responsibilities within the department.
- Reviews departmental reports, to ensure accuracy, making revisions as needed.
- Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction, with respect to the Cage, is achieved and maintained.
- Facilitates the flow of information by organizing and residing over regularly scheduled meetings with all team members under his/her span of control.
- Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.

Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
