DME Coordinator

Southlake Orthopaedics has an opening for a full-time DME Coordinator at our Hoover location, which is a busy and very fast paced orthopaedic clinic. The ideal candidate should be courteous, professional, and organized.The DME Coordinator is responsible for checking patient insurance benefits prior to the delivery of off-the-shelf DME (Durable Medical Equipment) items, including determining the proper payment required, and collection of such payments, prior to dispensing the DME item.Responsibilities and DutiesCheck patient insurance benefits and obtaining required authorizations prior to DME product delivery Dispense items from inventory after delivery to keep optimum stock par levelsAssist in the fitting of items from time to time when all other staff are with patientsSchedule patients in Greenway and Microsoft Outlook to the proper provider when product must be ordered, or a custom item is neededAnswer phones and transfer calls as requiredQualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior DME experience preferredOrthotic fitter or similar experience preferredPrior brace fitting experience preferredProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel Competent in the use of a personal computer and tabletExcellent organizational skillsAs a member of the Southlake team you can expect:Generous Paid Time Off based on years of serviceHealth & Welfare benefits starting the first of the month following your date of hire: BCBS MedicalDentalVisionCompany paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life, Accident, Cancer, and Critical Illness coverageEmployee Assistance Program401(k) plan after one year of employment Referral Bonus programMonday - Friday schedule for most rolesPlease note: If you are viewing this position on an external job board (such as Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc.), unless specifically stated in the posting, the provided salary estimates may not be accurate as they are not provided by Southlake Orthopaedics.
