Description of Work

Anticipated Vacancy

The primary purpose of this position is to service customers at the Huntersville Express office in the registering of their vehicles in the state of North Carolina. To perform this task, this position requires technical and administrative skills. This position must have an extensive knowledge of the General Statutes, policies, and procedures that govern the issuance of a North Carolina title as well as other credentials. Additionally, this position will issue license plates, issue crash reports, and provide customers with the purchasing of their driving or vehicle registration records observing the Federal Privacy Act guidelines. This position accepts payments for driving license penalties and/or fees as well as other duties assigned by the manager as required for the functionality of the unit.

The program area for this position includes one or more of the following: DMV Customer service in Vehicle Services, working knowledge of North Carolina vehicle titles issuance and /or experience issuing license plates, crash reports, land inventory.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade and Salary Range:  NC08 $39,244-$68,679

Management prefers applicants with the following:

  • Experience with a personal computer and mainframe databases.
  • Experience operating a calculator, workstation laser printer, fax machine & copier.
  • Experience with recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data. 
  • Experience with reviewing information to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations to resolve a complex or special processing matter. 
  • Experience in explaining & interpreting policies, regulations, & programs
