Job Description

We are seeking a WMHS Dock Worker to join our team at Port Canaveral. The role oversees the offload of APHIS, RMW, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste, including container inspections, container labeling, preparing and packaging hazardous waste lab packs, and sorting hazardous waste while complying with federal, state, and local regulations. The position collaborates with port and organizational staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as first point of contact and liaison for maritime customers for manifest reconciliation and document tracking.
• Manifest and coordinate safe transport of waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee offloading operations for APHIS, RMW, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste, including inspections, labeling, and lab pack preparation.
• Address client requests, including extra or changed pick-ups and container requests.
• Perform weekly regulatory and safety inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Ensure all tasks and documentation are complete before departing the pier.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements including RCRA, DOT, DEA, and OSHA.
• Knowledge of segregation, disposition, and transportation of multiple waste streams.
• Valid TWIC card and 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Ability to work safely while driving, loading, and unloading vehicles.
• Ability to manage daily account activities and maintain professional client relationships.
• Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.

Preferred Skills:

• CHMM, Advanced DOT, or HAZCOM certifications.
• Experience promoting services and maintaining customer satisfaction in a regulated environment.

Shift Details:

• 1st Shift.
• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM on weekends and weekdays as needed.
• May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
