The Team You’ll Join  

You will join a high-impact, growth-focused Sales organization responsible for managing and expanding Envestnet’s most strategic RIA and Home Office (HO) relationships. This team operates at the center of Envestnet’s client engagement model, partnering closely with Financial Advisor (FA) Sales, Product, Marketing, and Client Success to deliver coordinated, enterprise-wide solutions. As a Strategic Relationship Management Director, you will work alongside a collaborative group of relationship leaders and subject matter experts, all focused on driving client outcomes, accelerating managed account growth, and deepening the firm’s footprint across key accounts. The team is fast-paced, highly visible, and deeply aligned to Envestnet’s strategy of delivering holistic, data-driven wealth management solutions to clients.

 

How You’ll Contribute   

Builds and maintains long-term strategic partnerships with clients, developing in-depth understanding of client profile, its goals & objectives to align with Envestnet technology, solutions, and data intelligence to support their growth. Engage with clients in a consultative approach to be a trusted advisor, proactively identifying key issues, recommending solution strategies and identifying opportunities to sustain long-term partnership, expand services and drive mutual growth. Blends sales strategy with client advocacy to create mutually beneficial, lasting relationships.

  • Owns and grows a portfolio of mid- to large-size strategic accounts with clear end-to-end revenue ownership. 
  • Work with S3 colleagues and Financial Advisor (FA) sales teams to develop account plans and execute collaborative go-to-market strategies aligned to client goals, revenue targets, and key sales plays. 
  • Establish C-Suite and Home Office (HO) senior executive relationships for assigned clients and build strong, trusted relationships with key decision-makers. 
  • Proactively identifies expansion opportunities, including cross-sell and upsell strategies, and partners with specialists to convert advisor engagement into managed account flows. 
  • Deepens partnership by engaging with clients and HO leadership in strategic planning, incentive alignment, pricing strategy, sales enablement support, and product usability discussions. 
  • Researches and analyzes business drivers and HO-provided advisor data to identify engagement opportunities and guide FA focus where needed. 
  • Work with S3 colleagues to monitor revenue generation progress against jointly agreed KPIs and proof statements. 
  • Identifies new opportunities for client engagement and coordinates activation strategies through marketing campaigns, training, and warm introductions. 
  • Work with S3 colleagues and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver value, resolve complex issues, and support seamless execution across internal stakeholders and client resources. 
  • Supports contract renewals, pricing discussions, negotiations, and compliance needs in partnership with internal legal and executive teams. 
  • Ensures a strong understanding of market/regulatory trends and competitive environment impacting clients and applies in regular interaction with clients. 
  • Facilitate 8-12 client meetings each quarter, including leadership sessions, due diligence reviews, and QBRs, with clear, actionable outcomes and measurable results. 
  • Leverages Salesforce to manage relationship data, opportunity pipelines, and go-to-market strategies. 
  • Work with S3 colleagues to ensure optimal client conference participation and visibility, including negotiations, outreach, and post-event follow-ups. 
  • Partners with S3 colleagues to ensure applicable RFPs from existing clients are effectively executed.

What You’ll Need to Bring

  • Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.
  • Proven expertise engaging with independent RIAs and HO clients, including direct experience working with C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex client relationships, anticipating issues, and delivering consultative solutions.
  • Strong background in financial business analysis or consulting, with a track record of driving growth and adoption.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and project management abilities.
  • Familiarity with Envestnet’s wealth technology platforms is a plus.
  • Travel required: 50–75%

Our Investment in You 

This role offers a base salary range of $150,000 to $200,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
