Education & Credentials

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.

  • Litigation support experience valued.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • NARA & Records Management: Working knowledge of National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) records management requirements, federal records disposition schedules, and procedures for transferring records to the Washington National Records Center (WNRC).

  • Case File & Archival Experience: Proven experience managing, organizing, inventorying, indexing, and preparing litigation or legal case files for archival storage or transfer.

  • Data & Software Proficiency: Keyboard/typing skills and proficient user of Government office and network environments (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and telecommunications systems). Ability to perform simple database searches.

  • Detail & Confidentiality: Experience handling sensitive law enforcement or litigation-related records with high accuracy, strict confidentiality, and strong attention to detail under tight timeframes.

  • Core Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to read, follow, and comprehend task instructions within the broader litigation effort; proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure correct execution.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Working under the direction of a Task Supervisor or Document Management Analyst, and alongside Antitrust Division (ATR) government staff, the Technician will perform:

  • NARA Compliance & Archival Prep: Review, organize, rebox, and prepare records according to NARA requirements. Create detailed box inventories at the individual folder level to maintain records accountability, chain of custody, and compliance with federal disposition schedules and WNRC transfer procedures.

  • Document Processing & Assembly: File, retrieve, copy, tab, number, label, assemble, and blow back case materials and digital image media. Prepare witness binders and deposition/trial exhibits.

  • Scanning & Database Entry: Screen, label, and prep documents for image scanning. Enter data online into case files/databases, and proofread, edit, and correct OCR'd text files.

  • Quality Control & Logging: Fill out log sheets, report on task progress, and perform peer quality control across document prep, indexing, and data entry workflows.
