Dan’s Pet Care is hiring
part‑time W‑2 Pet Care Specialists to walk neighborhood dogs and do drop‑in visits on daytime routes across the North Shore of Nassau County and nearby areas.
This is perfect if you want
10–25 hours per week of consistent, active work instead of sitting behind a desk or chasing random gig‑app requests.
You’ll spend your shifts visiting pets in their homes, taking dogs for walks, giving food/water/meds as instructed, and sending quick photo updates to their humans. You’ll be backed by our
24/7 staffed, cage‑free facility in Glen Cove, so you’re never on your own if something comes up.
What You’ll Do
- Visit clients’ homes for scheduled dog walks and pet sitting visits
- Walk dogs of all sizes safely on leash in local neighborhoods
- Follow detailed care instructions for each pet (feeding, meds, routines)
- Drive between appointments within our service area
- Use our app/smartphone to check in/out and send visit notes and photos
- Monitor pets for any signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly
- Build long‑term, trusting relationships with pet parents on your route

Pay: Competitive hourly rate starting around
[$18.00–$19.50+ per hour], depending on experience and route mix.
(PLUS $1.25 per visit for gas compensation)
Typical part‑time schedules range from

What You Bring
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Love animals, especially dogs, and are comfortable with both large and small breeds
- Are able to walk and be on your feet for extended periods in all kinds of weather
- Are reliable, punctual, and treat this as a real, professional job (even if it’s part‑time)
- Live within or very close to our North Shore Nassau County service area
- Are willing to drive to multiple nearby towns during your shift
- Have a reliable, insured vehicle that can safely transport dogs when needed
- Own a smartphone (iPhone or Android) and are comfortable using apps
- Can pass a background check
- Are available for a consistent part‑time schedule, with weekday daytime availability most in demand (some evening/weekend availability is a plus but not required)
