What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is dependable, comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and able to work independently throughout the day. The strongest candidates will enjoy outdoor work, communicate professionally, and take pride in being trusted with clients' pets and home access. Prior dog walking, pet care, animal handling, or customer service experience may be helpful, but reliability, judgment, and a calm, caring presence matter most.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is based on commission per service, plus mileage reimbursement, a cell phone stipend, and 100% of tips. For candidates with 0 to 1 years of experience, starting pay averages about $16 to $22 per hour depending on number of walks completed, with higher starting pay available for those with more professional paid dog walking or pet sitting experience.
This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role.

This role starts part-time and may grow into full-time for the right person. Additional earnings may be available through extra visits, pet sitting, overnights, and weekend work.
Work Location / Schedule
This role is based in the Waltham, Massachusetts service area, but mostly in Watertown and Newton. Work is on-site and travel between client homes is required.
Current weekday schedule options include:
A minimum 6-month commitment is preferred. Temporary or seasonal roles are not available at this time.
