What You'll Do

• Safely walk dogs in the Newton and Watertown area according to assigned schedules and client instructions.
• Build trust with clients by providing reliable, on-time service and professional communication.
• Monitor each dog's behavior, energy, and well-being during walks and report any concerns promptly.
• Manage multiple appointments efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care.
• Handle leash safety, entry instructions, and basic pet care responsibilities with consistency and attention to detail.
• Help create a positive customer experience that leads to repeat business and long-term client confidence.

• Within the first few months, you establish a reputation for dependable attendance, punctuality, and strong client communication.
• Dogs in your care are walked safely, handled confidently, and returned home secure and well cared for.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and able to work independently throughout the day. The strongest candidates will enjoy outdoor work, communicate professionally, and take pride in being trusted with clients' pets and home access. Prior dog walking, pet care, animal handling, or customer service experience may be helpful, but reliability, judgment, and a calm, caring presence matter most.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is based on commission per service, plus mileage reimbursement, a cell phone stipend, and 100% of tips. For candidates with 0 to 1 years of experience, starting pay averages about $16 to $22 per hour depending on number of walks completed, with higher starting pay available for those with more professional paid dog walking or pet sitting experience.

This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role.

Work Location / Schedule

This role is based in the Waltham, Massachusetts service area, but mostly in Watertown and Newton. Work is on-site and travel between client homes is required.

Current weekday schedule options include:

• 5 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• 10 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., or 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• 15 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• 20 hours per week between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

A minimum 6-month commitment is preferred. Temporary or seasonal roles are not available at this time.
