Job Description

Network for Hope is seeking a part-time Donation Support Services (DSS) Referral Coordinator to provide dedicated weekend coverage.Our DSS team serves as the first point of contact when hospitals and other partners notify Network for Hope of a potential organ, tissue, or eye donor. The team receives and manages referrals, gathers and documents medical information, evaluates donation potential, coordinates with hospital and facility staff, and helps ensure each case moves appropriately through the donation process. The DSS Referral Coordinator is a great entry point into the Donation Support Services department for someone with healthcare experience who wants to be part of the donation mission. This position is focused on referral intake and case management rather than family conversations or donation authorization.Schedule: Every Saturday and SundayHours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AMStatus: Part-Time, Non-ExemptLocation: Fully RemoteScheduled Hours: 24 hours per weekDuring your shift, you will receive incoming donor referrals and help manage those cases throughout the referral process. You will gather and document necessary information, communicate with hospital and facility staff, monitor and follow up on active referrals, and ensure cases are appropriately transitioned as additional evaluation or family involvement is needed.What You'll DoReceive and manage incoming organ, tissue, and eye donor referrals.Gather and accurately document required medical, clinical, and referral information.Manage active cases throughout your assigned shift, including appropriate follow-up and communication.Communicate with hospital and facility staff to obtain necessary information and case updates.Complete preliminary donor screening and evaluation activities according to established criteria and procedures.Maintain timely, accurate, and objective documentation in applicable electronic systems.Communicate pertinent case information to appropriate DSS and on-call team members.Escalate cases requiring additional evaluation or review.Support continuity of referral and case management across shifts.Provide professional and responsive service to hospital and community partners. Donation Support Services Refer...What You'll BringA demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, and medical records is required. Because you'll be receiving clinical information and documenting potential donor referrals in real time, candidates must be comfortable understanding and accurately communicating medical information. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Excellent typing, data entry, communication, and multitasking skills are also essential.Experience in a healthcare call center, EMS, nursing, medical assisting, social work, dispatch, or a similar healthcare environment is preferred. Because this position is fully remote, employees must have reliable, high-quality internet service and a private, secure workspace appropriate for handling confidential patient information.Interested in full-time opportunities?
