Job Description of a Donation Truck Driver:Under the supervision of the Thrift Store Manager, this position is responsible for operating a company vehicle to complete routine pickups and deliveries of donated or other materials. Additional duties include assisting with loading and unloading items, supporting daily store operations, and occasionally working the cash register as needed. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and eligibility for auto insurance are required.Duties and Responsibilities of a Donation Truck Driver:
Pick up donations at schedule appointments/directions
Make trips per week to landfill for trash disposal/scrap metal recycling
Supervise client/trainee who works as assistant on the truck and keep assistant time sheet
Help keep the store in a clean and orderly manner throughout the day
Test electrical donations that are donated for sale
Work cash register as needed handling company money
Receiving donation/completing donation slips
Keyholder responsibilities as needed
Handles customer information and aware of client disability. Is informed of sensitive and held to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Must be able to pass an adult, child background checks, and drug screens
All other jobs as assigned
Minimum Qualifications of a Donation Truck Driver:
Have a valid Arkansas Drivers License and ability to be on company auto insurance
Prior experience driving a box truck with good drivers record/CDL not required
Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language effectively
Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
Ability to drive a box truck safely and in compliance with laws, policies, insurance policy requirements, and regulations
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility, including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting
An extensive amount of physical effort is required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently
Good mobility and use of extremities
